Polar Bear – Animal of the Month

The Power of Possibilities

This month, I spoke with a Polar Bear in the Animal Wisdom Circle. Polar Bears live mainly within the Arctic Circle. Although they are considered marine mammals, they are born on land and spend most of their lives on the coastal sea ice. Solitary animals, Polar Bears are non-territorial and highly adapted to thrive in their unique environment.

Because of expected habitat loss caused by climate change, the polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species, and at least three of the nineteen polar bear subpopulations are currently in decline.

Spiritual Guidance from a POLAR BEAR

For years, I have felt like my mission in life is to be a messenger for animals. I feel like it’s my responsibility to share their words with the world and spread that word as far and wide as I possibly can. The Animal Wisdom Circle is the structure that allows the conversation to happen and I like to share the wisdom from the animals here, on my blog, too.

What is your Spiritual Gift?

Strength, Power and Focus.

What is your Spiritual Lesson or challenge?

The vulnerability that comes with specialization.

Do you have a message for people?

Use your mental flexibility to solve problems and to create change. Put your mind to it and make it happen.

The wisdom from the Polar Bear  reminds us that we are not victims of our circumstances. We have the power to create what we want.

The members of the Animal Wisdom Circle who were on the call live with me asked more questions. One member shared that she feels so helpless when she sees photos of Polar Bears struggling to survive global climate change. She asked the Polar Bear what reaction he would like his image to evoke in us. The Polar Bear replied that he wanted to symbolize that anything is possible and we can use our strengths to make things happen.

By the time we ended the call, we were all feeling so INSPIRED and UPLIFTED!

Thank you, Polar Bear!

Now it’s your turn:

What does the Polar Bear’s message mean to you? How can you apply his wisdom to your life? Please share your insights in the comments below.

I understand the message as meaning to survive we can’t be victims or apathetic, rather use our mind as the powerful tool it is … and create change, without doubt.

I LOVE the Polar Bear’s message that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE (when we play to our strengths). So inspiring– and what a wonderful thing to remember (inspiring more focus, too) whenever I think of polar bears. Thank you Cara– and Mr. P. Bear!
