Lion Wisdom from 2 Perspectives

Saving Lions

Last month I had the honor of interviewing South African lion conservationist Linda Tucker for the 2018 Animal Wisdom World Summit. Linda is a powerful, tireless voice for all lions in Africa but especially the White Lion – a subspecies of African Lion that was on the verge of extinction until Linda came along. Over the past two decades she has worked diligently to return the White Lions to their native land, reintroducing captive lions back into the bush and securing land in a trust to ensure that future generations will have a place to live free. Linda also campaigns to end canned hunting. She is truly one of my heroes.

Lionhearted Leadership

I am spending the weekend with Linda in southern California, attending her Lionhearted Leadership workshop. Linda has identified 13 key qualities of lion leadership that can translate into powerful leadership in human lives, too. I plan to soak up all the wisdom I can from Linda and the lions!

In honor of Linda, the lions, and this workshop, I want to share Lion Wisdom with you today.

Lion Wisdom for Your Week

On my blog I have two short videos of lion wisdom – one from the lion and one from the lioness. I have long been fascinated by sexual dimorphism in animals and how it can influence every aspect of an animal’s life. When I was interviewing animals for my book Divine Beings – The Spiritual Lives and Lessons of Animals, I was excited to talk with both male and female lions and see how the physical and life history differences translated into the spiritual guidance and wisdom I would receive from the male and female lions.

I think there are clear differences but I’ll let you be the judge!

Now It’s Your Turn

How does the wisdom from the lions help you this week? How can you apply their wisdom to your own life?
