The Power of FAMILY
This month, I spoke with a Turkey in the Animal Wisdom Circle.
He was gentle and peaceful and intelligent – and completely devoted to family, which included everyone!
To get your own sense of what the Turkey was like and what he had to say, you can watch the Turkey Wisdom video below or read on for a little more detail about the Turkey’s Wisdom. I think you’ll find that you see yourself a little differently based on what he has to say. (I know I did!)
Spiritual Guidance from a TURKEY
Each conversation in the Animal Wisdom Circle is unique. This month, the TURKEY started by sharing the importance of shifting from our heads to our hearts. He also mentioned that living within a spiritual context can bring continuity and peace to our lives.
This conversation was FASCINATING! Below is a summary of the highlights our conversation. If you want to experience the richness of the these conversations for yourself, please join us in the Animal Wisdom Circle!
What is your Spiritual Gift?
Overseeing the family group.
What is your Spiritual Lesson or challenge?
Feeling removed from connections with individuals.
Do you have a message for people?
Everyone is your family. Everyone is included in your flock.
The members of the Animal Wisdom Circle who were on the call live with me asked more questions, including what was his favorite thing about being a Mantis (he said ‘How beautiful I am!’), what tool to use to overcome your spiritual challenge and more. Please join us in the Animal Wisdom Circle each month to ask your own questions and hear the wisdom from the next animal guest live.
By the time we ended the call, we were all feeling a little more connected and familial.
Thank you, Turkey!
Now it’s your turn:
What does the Turkey’s message mean to you? How can you apply his wisdom to your life? Please share your insights in the comments below.

December 9, 2018I’d been told that turkey is one of my power animals. [Sounded like a joke! ;-)] But what you got fits exactly with what I saw one day when I arrived early for a doctor appt. First one tom turkey came out from the bushes to the right and slowly and carefully looked around. I just stayed still and non-threatening. To make a long story short he was the advance scout. Then very gradually, one at a time, a few adults, each leading a small flock of chicks of various ages following each adult, came into view. Everyone moving across the area to disappear behind the building in the background. By the time the parade was over an amazing number of birds had revealed themselves. I was amazed at the coordination and precise care of the youngsters by these few adults. Reminded me of watching an outing of preschool children shepherded by teachers and parents, walking down sidewalks and crossing streets.
