My Spiritual Truth, until quite recently, included only 2 parts: we are here to 1) share our gifts and 2) learn our lessons.
I’ve just added a 3rd part: 3) we each also have a mission or a message that we are expressing through our lives and our work.
Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had missions – social change through non-violence. Jim Carrey has a mission: to help people let go of their concerns for a while.
My Mission
Inspired by Ghandi, Dr King and Mr. Carrey, I realized what I am up to in the world: My mission is to help cause a global paradigm shift so the world realizes that animals are people, too, and that we are all divine beings.
One Woman’s Mission
When I was planning my first Elephant Blessings Retreat in Thailand, I was looking for a wonderful place that fit my standards: elephants were free to be themselves, no rides, no entertaining, no anything except whatever they felt like doing and the people involved had to come from a place of love and respect. I found the perfect place: Boon Lott’s Elephant Sanctuary in Sukothai. And I can’t wait to go there.
On my way to BLES next January 2017, I’m going to stay overnight at the Elephant Nature Park because its founder Lek’s mission is palpable. Because her love and respect for the elephants is unmistakable. Because I was inspired to be part of her mission. She is an extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things for elephants and people.
So I am planning to have two magical, once in a lifetime experiences on the same trip!
Your Mission
Her mission is clear and I hope that as you watch her living her truth and spreading her message, you get clearer on who you are and what you’re up to in the world. You have a mission, too. Have you defined it yet? When you do, you become so clear and so powerful – energy just flows through you and gives you purpose. Everything gets viewed through that lens and priorities automatically get set in your daily life. You are on purpose and on your mission!
Your Turn
What is your mission? Please share it in the comments below!
PS If the elephants are calling to you, too, please contact me – I have a couple spaces left on the January 2017 trip to BLES! Click here to schedule a time to talk about the trip.

June 9, 2016It’s the best time to make some plans for the future
and it’s time to be happy. I’ve read this post and if I could I wish to suggest
you few interesting things or tips. Maybe you could
write next articles referring to this article. I desire to read more things about it!

June 1, 2016I love the coordinating energy inherent in a defined mission, and your own is really inspiring, Cara. I’ve played around with developing one for myself but maybe one focussed statement just isn’t ripe yet for me. A couple of years ago I read something by Marianne Williamson that struck me as a great generic mission, though– to allow more love, or bring more love into any situation. Yesterday evening when I opened my e-mail, your link to this blog arrived at the same time as one by Danielle LaPorte on a really synergistically related topic. Hers began, “Do you know the story about the two stone cutters? When asked what he’s doing, the first man replies, ‘I’m cutting this stone into bricks.” When the second laborer is asked what he’s doing, he replies, “I’m building a temple.’ ”, and discussed linking the small stuff we do to a bigger picture. So after reading both of those blog posts, I went out to mow the lawn and think about them, and decided that both with mowing, and in my life, I’m keeping up with the growth curve!

June 1, 2016Hi Dr. Cara,
What a sublimely inspirational post! How exciting! A trip to Thailand!I love how this is so aligned with your mission.
My mission and passion is to help spiritual entrepreneurs grow their businesses in a grounded way through Angelic Guidance and business smarts.
If I might be so bold as to make a suggestion, this trip is definitely worthy of a press release to raise awareness of this wonderful work.
